On October 14, our European party held a conference in Vienna on European Union funding of politicized NGOs, a way to create its own civil society.
In the heart of the Austrian capital, Hebert Kickl, the president of the FPÖ, our member party, introduced the debate in front of 200 people: “We can expect NGOs to be independent and critically distanced from institutions. But in reality, they are ambassadors for the system in place in Brussels. It is an attack on democracy that costs billions.”
The system is indeed costing the tax payers a lot of money and seems to have been created by the elites for the elites, as Csaba Dömötör, a Hungarian Fidesz MP and member of Patriots.eu, claims : « What we are talking about has nothing to do with NGOs whose grassroots lie in civil society. It is the product of Brussels institutions, by the bubble for the bubble. This system must be destroyed because it is against the interests of our citizens.”
It is easy to understand why the funded NGOs are all from the same political side. This was highlighted by Krystian Kamiński from our Polish member party Ruch Narodowy: “The NGOs in Poland that are funded by the European Union are all left-wing. Right-wing NGOs receive money from common people.”
Faced with an NGO system diverted from its original meaning, what solution is there? For the German Sebastian Münzenmaier, “we must dry up the funding for left-wing NGOs in order to reduce their power. No more money for them! That is why we must vote for right-wing parties across Europe. »
