Leader Summit in Fontainebleau
Meeting in Fontainebleau on 8 June 2025, in a town that was the scene of major events in the history of France and Europe, the leaders of Patriots member parties reaffirmed their desire to work together to make Europe a continent of power, peace and freedom once again.
For a powerful Europe
At a time when most nations base their policies on protecting their own interests, the European Union remains stuck in the past, pursuing policies that risk removing Europe and its nations from the global stage.
A power strategy for Europe and the European Member States is an absolute necessity if the nations of Europe are to enjoy peace, prosperity, freedom through defense and economic strength and independence.
While the failed policies pursued by the European Commission, in particular the Green Deal, are harming the European economy, farmers and businesses, Patriots leaders advocate for a competitive economy, a policy of industrial development and energy sovereignty.
For a Europe of peace
The war in Europe’s neighbourhood since February 2022 is a reminder that the peace built at the end of the Second World War, and extended to the countries of Eastern Europe after the fall of Communism, remains a fragile ideal, particularly when geopolitical realities are overwritten by ideological visions.
While the geopolitical context should encourage Europe to ensure its defense, there should be no return to warmongering. In contrast to the rhetoric calling for sending troops to Ukraine, Europe must play a mediating and facilitating role in order to end the conflict in the region, peace being the priority.
A Europe of peace works to prevent international conflicts from being imported to its borders. As a victim of Nazi barbarism, Europe cannot allow a new form of anti-Semitism, fuelled by the rhetoric of the radical left, to develop within its borders.
For a Europe that protects fundamental rights
Patriots leaders are concerned about the erosion of fundamental democratic rights, the threats to freedom and the double standards against the forces that are not aligned with the left-liberal mainstream of the European Union, particularly in terms of sovereignty and migration policy.
Patriotic leaders, as in France and all across Europe, are today confronted with the interventionist and ideological policies of the European Commission, which deny citizens the right to decide for themselves the future of their countries.
Protecting the rights of individuals also means preserving people’s social and cultural identities. The Commission’s policies, particularly in the area of migration, threaten the security and identity of its Member States, which can be felt even in the most remote villages.
For the rebirth of Europe, the Patriots leaders:
(1) Call for the respect of democracy, freedom and the sovereignty of Member States by the EU institutions and the right of individuals to choose their leaders through a free electoral process;
(2) Call for an end to the abuses of the principles of democracy and freedom by politicised courts to convict opposition political leaders, annul elections or punish Member States for protecting their borders;
(3) Call for abandoning the European Green Deal and putting in place an ambitious energy policy that guarantees the lowest prices for consumers and the reindustrialisation of Europe;
(4) Reject the European Union’s failed migration policies and any initiative that opens up borders and distributes migrants throughout Europe;
(5) Call for fighting actively against anti-semitism, and recall that there is no place in Europe for violence against any faith;
(6) Reject the escalation of war and the sending of troops to Ukraine, which would lead to an extension and generalisation of the current conflict at the borders of Europe generated by Russia with the invasion of Ukrainian territory;
(7) Encourage the liberty for Member States to strengthen their defense capabilities without conferring neither powers nor military competences on the European Union;
(8) Underline that Ukraine’s accession to the EU would pose major concerns, as this would have unpredictable consequences, especially with regard to the agriculture, food security, labour market, and the security of the Member States;
(9) Call for the consolidation of a Europe built around the patriotic parties united within the Patriots.eu party, that, while defending their national interests, are capable of rebuilding a Europe that again ensures peace, security and prosperity for its citizens.
